At Aokautere School, Freedom to Grow has several meanings. It represents our ‘country school’ environment that allows our tamariki to explore and prosper. It also represents the growth students gain while at Aokautere School so that they have the skills and knowledge to make intelligent and independent choices.
Aokautere School choose the word wātea from a line in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights 1948 which we feel captures the mana of what we are trying to achieve
Kia wātea ki te tupu
Freedom to Grow
